The end-of-day report is the one-page summary of the day. Knowing what each item says lets you catch a problem early.

Total sales

The total of the day's closed checks. Open checks that haven't been closed yet aren't included; make sure no table is left open before closing.

Payment method split

Shows the share of methods such as cash, card, meal card and customer credit. Compare the cash in the till with the reported cash; if there is a gap, look at the shift report.

Discounts and complimentary items

A high discount or complimentary rate can show that a waiter or a product deserves a look. Tying these actions to PIN approval makes control easier.

Cancellations

Cancelled items and checks are shown separately. Repeated cancellations are a sign of a problem in the kitchen or service flow.

Shift report

Sales by shift let you match the till with the person who closed the shift.

  • Did you leave an open check before closing?
  • Does the cash amount match the till?
  • Are discounts and cancellations in the expected range?
  • Do the best-selling products fit the stock?

To see cost and profit, add the recipe and cost app; the report then works out gross and net profit too.
